Etai - Snag Golf

SNAG GOLF

Snag golf is a weird word but it stands for something when your a beginner.
1. S-Starting
2. N-New
3. A-At
4. G-Golf
Snag golf is an exciting sport to experience with heaps of your classmates or your friends.

Today, Kia Manawanui went out to play snag golf in the morning. While we were playing snag golf we had to do the drill at the same time. If you don't know what drill we were doing we had to do the earthquake drill. While we were playing snag golf were heard a beep or rumble we thought that it was someone about to talk but it wasn't. Mrs Fepuleai told us if that's the drill and it was, so all the kids had to go and run into an open space. When we ran to an open space Mrs Fepuleai told us about her sister in christchurch when the earthquake happened.

Our instructor today was Hough. The lesson that we did today was how to keep your arm straight while you're throwing. While we were playing I went to a different station because there was lot of people at my station. Snag golf was very exciting because all we got to do was to play a game and learn how to keep your arm straight.

NZ Shakeout day tomorrow



DATE: 15/10/15

As we all know we have a New zealand shakeout day to celebrate/remember the people who died in the devastating earthquake in Christchurch that happened in 2010. Did you also know that Christchurch had an after shock in 2011. Some people in Auckland has never experienced an earthquake before. The three catchphrases in an earthquake is DROP, COVER and HOLD, those three catchphrases would help you protect yourself in an earthquake. In T.P.S we are learning how to DROP, COVER and HOLD. We are learning how to DROP, COVER and HOLD in case an earthquake happens in New zealand. Tomorrow is the day that Tamaki Primary School is going to do the NZ shakeout day because of what happened in Christchurch in 2010 and 2011.

Etai - Stanley - Poster of the tall blacks



Today, In Room 10 my friend and I Stanley made a poster for our current events. This is what the poster looks like when it's finished. This poster is all about the Tall Blacks winning the stankovic cup in china. The Tall Blacks had a stunning win against Mexico winning by 4 points. If I had to pick a team I would pick GSW which stands for Golden State Warriors.

Etai - Corrugated Art - brainstorm


Today, in Room 10 we had to finish off our corrugated art that we had to finish with Mrs Manuyag. This is what my design would look like when it is finished after I show my teacher. Today, miss Aireen told us to finish our presentation and to put pictures in and share it with her. Before I did my presentation I had to finish my art that I showed you before. My Myth and Legend Art



Today, room 10 had to finish off their art about their Myth that they wrote before doing the art. Before doing my art I had to ask Miss Aireen if she could print off my writing about my myth about the gods that I chose. My god that I like the most is Nature, he is the god that looks after the forest and the people that go into the forest. Nature is also known in my story as Tanemahuta. Etai - Sulaiman and Cavhyon - Descriptive details and Phrases

 


Today and Yesterday, we had to do a Descriptive details and Phrases about the myth we picked yesterday. In my group I had Sulaiman and Cavhyon because Miss Aireen said we have to have a partner to work with. After we finished this we had to go up in front of the class and represent our drawing about how Maui slowed the sun down.

Today, In Room 10 we had to play or practise our basic facts because some of us don't know it. It was my first time playing or practising on this game. This game was kind of challenging for me but I managed to get some right. As you can see I got heaps right and only two wrong. Next time I am going to try and get them all right.

Etai - TJ - Bloom's Taxonomy



Today, In Room 10 we had to do reading and finish our tumble task. TJ and I tried to finish our work yesterday but there was not much time so we had to leave it and finish it the next day. Today TJ and I finished our bloom's taxonomy that we were trying to finish our work yesterday.

Our Mythical creature that we chose is a Pegasus it is most called a white stallion because it is white. A Pegasus has wings like an angel but different shape of body.   • Percy is a curious demi-god who wants to learn more from where he came from and who is he as a hero.
  • He is a funny, goofy, nerdy, brave, big hearted and strong.
  • This hero is the son of poseidon and the daughter of a mortal.
  • He always thought that his real father didn’t want him.
CHARACTERISTICS - how would you describe this character? their personality?
  • Grover is satar whose job is to protect Percy and Percy's family.
  • Percy’s best friend is Grover and Grover always has his back.
  • Grover makes the story more funnier and entertaining.
  • He has to disguise in public to keep his legs a secret.
ACTIONS - what key actions and events did this character take part in?
  • Percy Jackson took part in things in training, a battle, ctf meaning (capture the flag) and studying.
  • Percy also travelled to places in order to get magical pearls to help them exit the underworld when they finished business with hades.
  • Soon he realised while in a meeting with hades Luke set them up to make it look like percy was a thief.
  • Percy managed to escape and make it to the teleporter to Olympus But...

  • Grover was Percy Jackson’s protector until Percy Jackson become a demi-god and he showed him what he was the hole time. He was a half goat and half human but Percy Jackson calls him “ You're a  Donkey “ I put that in there because is was so funny.
  • Grover managed to run to the car in the casino and drove out very fast to get away from the security’s that were in the casino.
  • When Grover went on an adventure he was so hyped that he couldn't stop talking on the way to Las vegas, Nevada.
HOW DOES THE CHARACTER CHANGE OVER THE COURSE OF THE MOVIE?
  • Luke was waiting for percy near the entrance of the teleporter and was willing to fight Percy.
  • The Battle was awesome and ruthless but in the end there was only one winner.
  • Luke got the lightning bolt and was about to hit Percy when all of a sudden Percy struck Luke with his powers and escaped away with the lightning bolt to return it to zeus.
HOW DOES THE CHARACTER CHANGE OVER THE COURSE OF THE MOVIE?
  • Percy Jackson becomes one of the strongest demigods and he becomes a good fighter/warrior. Percy was determined to get his mother back after the fury or minitaur took her.
  • When Hades told Percy “I got your mother down here in the underworld” He wanted to go and save her then Grover and annebeth showed up behind him.
  • He sacrifice himself for Percy Jackson to stay in the underworld to save Percy Jackson’s mother.

This task is about understanding bloom's task activity about percy jackson and the lightning thief. My two friends Cypress and TJ finished this together and watched the movie together so we know information about the story and the movie.

When our teacher shared this with us we had to put the answer's in and put them in our own words. When we did the answer's we looked at the sheet that we did during the movie and we copied it off there. But when we put the answer's in it was black until we changed them into Red.

This piece of work is based on a movie the has gods, Demigods and Mythical creatures. In our syndicate we watch movies on wednesdays and we have to do a Movie study about it. Today I worked with T.J and Cypress we had to write down the answers and write about it after the movie finished. The movie that we watched was about things like mythical creatures and gods.

Today Sulaiman, Brandon and I worked on the characters of Hercules. When we finished the Personality Traits we Moved onto the next one so we moved onto Actions I did Hades Sulaiman did Meg and Brandon did Hercules. After we finished we moved on to the next task which is Evaluating.

Free rice - Multiplication table

In this game you have try and reach a score for this game. When you play this game you have to give an answer for all of the multiplication problems that come up on the screen when you get the answer right the rice will fill up in the bowl if you get the answers right. When I was playing this it was kind of difficult because some of the time tables i know and some of the other one's I don't know.

Etai & Viliamu Ruaumoko


Yesterday, In the Library Room 10 went to go and find out what are the names and what are they about. Miss Aireen told us to pick a partner so I picked viliamu and then Miss Aireen told us to pick a God so I decided to pick Ruaumoko because all of the other gods were taken. When we did it in the library some of the other people went to the other side so Viliamu and I stayed on the other side so we can do our work.

Etai - T.J - Brandon - comparing and contrasting.


Yesterday, Room 10 had to do comparing and contrasting with Whaea Petra. Whaea Petra told us to get in groups of two so Bandon and I were partners so Brandon and I let T.J come in our group so we can get started on our task.

Etai - School Values about How Maui slowed The sun



In Room 10 we had to finish our school values about how maui slowed the sun down. Our four school values are Rangimarie, Tukumarie, Whanaungatanga, Manaakitanga. When the student councils come up stairs all of us had a task to do but the people that were with Miss Aireen had a different task to do.

Before we did the Myths & Legends we had to do our Acquaintances and friends. we had to put the definition in and the Synonyms. This task was all about how are you going to describe your best friends and Acquaintances. When we finished that work we had to move onto another task that we had to finish.

The turtle and the shark



In Room 10 Miss Aireen told all of the student's to choose a partner and create a DLO to do it on. Miss Aireen told us to do two Myths & Legends story from different countries. Our focus this term is all about Myths & Legends and what they are all about. The story that me and my friend Lolo did was The turtle and the Shark. Our second choice that I chose was The Tokamatu. This Myth came from Niue it was all about tribes stealing the statue or something. If you want to read the Tokamatu it would be displayed on my other blog.

First day of school


On my first day of school I was really nervous because I didn't know anyone at first until I saw Stanley, Lolo and Brandon. Then I went upstairs with Stanley and he introduced me to all of the people in my class. When the bell rang we had to go to class a to work. Before we had to work I had to go up in front of the class and introduce myself in front of everybody I felt so nervous because it was my first time introducing myself. My favourite sport is Rugby, Rugby League, Soccer and Swimming.

Trench Model

This a model of a trench made out of playdough based on WW1. My group made our trench out of playdough like the other kids in our class but we were last to make ours. We are studying World War 1 with our class and with our group. Working with a group is very easy but doing it by yourself would be very challenging. When we made the trench we had a gun and a food can with a mouse in the front. Samuel, Munokoa and I made the sand bags and the guns. Munokoa went to go and plan in the book so when we get the play - dough we can get started on our trench.

Powhiri

Walt: write a recount

Yesterday all the seniors rushed to Point England beach to welcome the guests that travelled from Hawaii over four thousand kilometres. The guests from Hawaii’s pronunciation was kind of an American accent but they still can talk in Maori.

When they stepped onto the land the ko matua presented a speech for the guests while they were coming. The people that came from Hawaii talked to us about how manaiakalani was created. They had a really long speech but really good because other children can learn from that.

Next, we had to sing three songs. The three songs a called E oho ra e, He honore, Nga waka. Then this man came and told us a speech about him and the manaiakalani. He told us about the manaiakalani and the hook that a man holds. An american guy gave us a speech about a scientist that told him about manaiakalani in school.

Whether you are any culture your ancestors were the manaiakalani navigators. The People around the world have more knowledge and they have more ancient knowledge too. The people around the world are also part of the manaiakalani hook (the hook of heaven).

At the end a man gave a karakia. When he finished the karakia all schools had to go and high five the people that came all the way from Hawaii. After we finished we had to line up to go back to school and have lunch.

Bowling for Fractions

 This game is called bowling for fraction. In this game I have to make up a fraction and answer it. When I played this game it was very easy because all I needed to do was match the fraction that I did. When you play this game you have to make up a question and answer it. Next time I would like to learn harder things in maths.

Putting Fraction on the Number Line

In this game you have to find the correct fraction to put on the number line. Then you drop it if you know where it goes. If you drop it on the wrong number you would have to start again. This was very difficult at first but when I started playing it the game got easier. I did not understand this at first. Next I want to learn my decimals.

St Patrick

Walt: explain the legends of St Patrick

St Patrick was born in 387 A.D. St Patrick’s real name is Maewyn Succat. Maewyn’s parents are part of the Roman family. St Patrick was kidnapped at the age of sixteen and was taken to Ireland by the pagan Irish Raiders.

The name St Patrick was given to him later in life by Pope Celestine. Also the shamrock was actually called the summer plant. He also spread the word of God when he was twenty eight years old.

There is another legend about how Maewyn drove the snake out of Ireland. He stood on the hill and he tried to poke the snake’s with his stick. Then he caught them and he drove them away.

There are many legends linked to St Patrick. There is one
legend when St Patrick drives the snake’s out of the Ireland and trapped them in a small box that he could throw into the sea so there could be no more snakes in Ireland that means they vanished under the reef.

Another legend is when mericle and magical fought and when St Patrick had to fight the Druids. After he fought them he had a vision of him being baptized to become a bishop.

St Patrick’s colour use to be blue but when Maewyn Succat came back they changed the colour back to it’s well known green. Then Maewyn travelled about two hundred miles to a ship.

St Patrick died in 17 march 670 A.D.

On this game you have to get the answers correct for the measurements. I tried to get 100 percent but I only got 97 because I got one wrong. At least I got a A so that is good but next time I am going to aim for 100 percent.
