Netbook reflection

Big Question:

1. We learned how to use our netbook in different ways. We use them for our work.

2. And we use our netbook to edit movies.

3. Then we write scripts for acting. Sometimes we use our netbook to search things up.

4. We always use the netbook because we are allowed to.

5. I learnt how to do my maths on my own and I know how to do anything on my netbook.
6. I learnt from my friend that doing your work is the right thing to do.
7. When we need to post something we go on our blogger to post it.
8. I learnt from my dad keep on trying doing your work so you can get a good report.

9. When we need to do our work we go on our reading
site.
10. When we need to go on our maths we go on study ladder and do it.
11.
When we need to do our work we go to our drive.
Shortcut to do your work.

Doing our maths.
Doing our sumdog and completing it.

The big crocodile

One sunny morning I went to the river. When I went to put my feet in I saw a head pop up and roar at me. The crocodile’s have sharp teeth and they can eat any animal that goes in their water. In the water you can’t see the crocodile. The crocodile’s have a good sense of smell  they can smell food and they can hear everything.

When I went to the river there was a fishermen fishing for fish. When I said to him to get out of the water he decided he wanted to still fish. Then I saw this huge crocodile coming across and the crocodile went to go and bite on his bait.

The man that was fishing tried to pull the crocodile into his boat but then the crocodile pulled him in the water and then the man that was fishing died.

Four weeks later the police found his body and they pulled him towards the shore and then they saw a tooth stuck on his leg. They took the tooth off the man’s leg and then they said,”
It was a male crocodile that pulled him in the river and drowned him.

The crocodile got caught by a local fisherman that was with the man that died. But the man set the crocodile free.

Puppy

A puppy is a juvenile dog. Some puppies can weigh 1–3 lb, while larger ones can weigh up to 15–23 lb. All healthy puppies grow quickly after birth. Puppies are very smart and some are not. The puppy that I like the most is a red nose.

I like the red nose because it is dangerous and it runs away.

Glen Innes.

Thank you for donating food and bread to our school. You are very kind to arrange things for Glen Innes school. You are very kind because you provided the bread and the lettuce and tomatoes.

I enjoyed making my lunch so next time when we have that I know what to do. I liked doing my lunch because I put healthy things in my sandwich like lettuce and tomatoes and tuna.

When we were doing our lunch I went to go and help Kaufana because he didn't know what to do so I decided to go and help him. I am really looking forward to make my own sandwich again with my teacher and my friends I wish we can do this again.

If you can provide us more food that will be good for Glen Innes School we would appreciate you helping us get ready to do our own lunch. It will be awesome if we can see you in person and say Thank you to Pak’n save and the people that work for you.

Thank you very much for giving us some bread rolls and thank you for the fruit’s, yoghurt, tomatoes and lettuce. If you can sponsor our school when we do sports that will be very kind of you to support us.

Native Plant.

This showy megaherb is found on coastal cliffs, rock outcrops, on beaches just above the strand zone and in coastal forest openings. It favours the rear of boulder beaches where it grows among kelp drift and accumulated paua shells. The Chatham Island forget-me-not can be seen in Henga Scenic Reserve and at Kaingaroa Point.
This glossy-leaved megaherb is widely grown in nurseries and gardens throughout New Zealand and overseas. It is beloved as a garden plant in the Chathams.

This threats are Coastal development has recently destroyed the only known wild population of white-flowered plants. Grazing, trampling and rooting by domestic and feral animals and weed encroachment, especially by marram grass, are major threats to this species.

Fantail.

This Fantail is mid to dark grey or grey-brown above, yellowish/orange below, with a dark band across the chest below a white throat, white markings over the eye, and (depending on the race) either white-edged or entirely white outer tail feathers.

It grows to 16 cm (6.3 ) in length, of which half is the tail, which, as the name implies, is often displayed fanned out.

This reveals that the outer tail feathers that are light and the centre ones are dark.

Some subspecies are found in a darker plumage, notably the "Black fantail" morph seen in up to 25% of South Island birds and less than 1% of North Island birds (it is completely absent from the Chatham Islands). The fantail is one of the birds that eat insects.I like fantail’s because they are not dangerous when they meet other bird’s.

The food pyramid.

The food  pyramid tells us what food to eat and what you should cook. The food you could eat is meat and fruit.
The food you should eat less is carrot, onion and garlic with the meat. The garlic won’t help you build more energy it will make you very healthy.

If you have fish or chicken meat you should eat a little of it so you can become more healthy and not fat. If you keep eating the same food you will get very fat.

The food that you should eat less is some fish if you eat it a lot you should try some other food that you don’t like.

The least food you should not eat is chicken. The chicken is not that healthy it contains low energy and it has high cups of sugar.

Germs

1. What are germs ?
“Germ” is an informal term for a pathogen, which is a formal term for something that makes you sick. A germ is a microscopic organism that can carry disease.

2. Do you get good germs ?In our body we get good germs and sometimes we get bad germs if we don’t wash our hands when we come from outside we need to wash our hands If it’s dirty.

3. What do good germs do ?
Do yourself a favour and stay away from antibacterial soaps and hand sanitizers. These products actually kill good bacteria that's taking up space on your skin, keeping the pathogens at bay.
4. What do bad germs do ?
They either help you or hurt you. Bad bacteria can make your life uncomfortable in your life. Viruses can make you and the people around very sick. Bacteria is a germ that can make you sick and it can make your family sick.

Paragraph:
“Germ” is an informal term for a pathogen, which is a formal term for something that makes you sick. A germ is a microscopic organism that can carry disease. It is not good to walk around the shopping centre or the mall you will spread your disease.

In our body we get good germs and sometimes we get bad germs if we don’t wash our hands when we come from outside we need to wash our hands If it’s dirty.

Do yourself a favour and stay away from antibacterial soaps and hand sanitizers. These products actually kill good bacteria that's taking up space on your skin, keeping the pathogens at bay. Germs are not good for kids because if they go near someone that has disease they can get sick fast.

They either help you or hurt you. Bad bacteria can make your life uncomfortable in your life. Viruses can make you and the people around very sick. Bacteria is a germ that can make you sick and it can make your family sick. If you touch a door handle you won’t know what is on the door handle.

cougar cubs.

    Cougars

In america the cougar comes from a rocky part of the mountain in america. The cougar hides in the mountains If they are afraid of something that’s very scary. The cougars a very good at climbing back up the mountain.

The baby cubs can’t climb because they are only baby’s. A mountain that is very rocky can be only climbed by a cougar because cougar has only got feet for climbing.

The cougar is like a cheetah but they live in different places. The cheetah lives in the wild and the cougar lives in the rocky parts of america. The cougar is fast but only on the grass but not on the mountain that will be silly.

I shed a tear.

A tear

Today I shed a tear

Because four people died in a car crash while they were drinking.

I was very sad when I heard there was a car crash with four people in the car and the car crash happened in America.

I did not know them when I saw them on T.V.

The four people were very young when they were in the car drinking two of the people were seventeen and the other two were nineteen.

They did not do anything to people they were just normal guys but they were very naughty.

They just had to be in the car drinking while one of them were drinking while he was driving.

When they had the barrel for the four guys that died in a car crash while drinking. They were all crying and everybody was sad because they saw their body go down to the ground on the barrel.

Today I shed a tear.

Etai learns basic facts.

In class we do basic facts and mathematics everyday I am getting better at my basic facts everyday. For the last basic facts I had over 50 percent in my maths. My basic facts helped me threw my maths and threw my multiplication.

Narrative Egypt

Etai
Ancient Egypt

One sunny day in egypt I went to the pyramids then I saw the ancient Egypt king. Next I went to go and look at the river nile when I got there it was already flooding. The king was named josh. When I went there I saw Ra he was the god of the sun.

When I got out of the pyramids the river nile got nearer and nearer and nearer then it flooded in the pyramids. When I said the pyramids were flooding Ra came  running out of the pyramids. When Ra came out he tried to stop the river from flooding the pyramids. He said to me,”
Go far away from the pyramids I can stop the river with my I replied back,”
Why do you want me to go so you can be safe,” he said but you need help there is only you and your king that is doing the job. Next I yelled is there anyone that can help us from stopping the river.

Then I heard someone say who is that saying is there anyone that can help us from stopping the river. Then I listened to where it came from and when I went there it was another tribe of Egyptian people. Then I said to them,”
Can you come and help us stop the river from flooding in our pyramids. When the river flooded I got some people to help us. Then the king of Egypt said,”
Who are those people and where did they come from the leader of their tribe responded we are the people from your kingdom we have come to help you stop the river nile from flooding.

Then I saw a plane fly past and I thought it was my dad because when I left he had a big plane parked outside the front door. I waved my hand so they can stop and see what happened. Then it was time to see if it stopped flooding when I went there all the water was gone and the king and the tribe from his kingdom was gone too.

The pyramids were not flooded and it was the same way it was when it was flooding. When I got into the pyramids I saw the king lying on the floor I thought he was dead but when I checked the temperature of his body he was very cold. When I looked at the calendar it was my birthday.

Etai Swimming lessons

                   Swimming lessons

At swimming we went to go and swim with the instructors. In the pool we are learning how to do freestyle and backstroke because the swimming sports is coming up on Friday. In the pool there was three groups, Group 1 was on the other side and group 2 was on the other side of group 3. The swimming coaches are very cool because at the end we get to play a game in the pool.

The pool is clean and smooth that’s why I like to swim In the pool with my friends. That is why I like playing in the pool and playing with the coaches.

In the pool we love to practise and practise heaps of times. I love swimming because you can save someone if they are stuck out at shore with a creature that is why swimming is important.

Etai does maths online

This is a screenshot of my (extension) exercise. I had been learning about ( Walt ).
When I always go on sumdog I play street racer and tower climber. I like sumdog because it is a maths game.

Digital foot print.

We have learning how to leave a positive digital footprint. We know we are doing this because we are leaving  good, quality comments. Here is the comment I have left. It is good to leave comments for kids so they know we have been to read their blog. My comment is good because I am leaving a thoughtful and positive foot print and it is good to leave a fact on a blog if you can.

SWIMMING

Learning to Swim

When I went to go and swim it was cold in the pool. The man that was coaching us his name was Hamish. Hamish taught us how to do backstroke on our back I can do backstroke but I don’t keep my arms straight.

The pool was nice and cold when I went under water. Hamish is cool because he let’s us lay a game with him in the water. He told us to not hop in the water because we have to wait for the other kids.

The pool was like the sea but the sea can give you sunburn. The pool is the best because it doesn’t give you sunburn that’s why I like the pools.

Every time when I hop in the pool get’s cold but when you go under water it get’s hot. In the pool Hamish told us if someone is drowning what do you do you have to pull them back to shore.

Wheels and cogs

Cogs:

The wheel is perhaps man’s greatest invention. Simple as it seems, it is the very basis of movement. The cart, the cycle, the motor-car and the railway train move on wheels. Even aircraft which fly thousands of kilometres through the air need wheels for taking-off and landing. It is not only for transport that the wheel is vital. Machines that produce various goods for us, watches that tell us the time, generators that produce electricity, and many gadgets which have become essential in our day-to-day life cannot work without a wheel.

wheels allow you to do something easy for a longer time, instead of doing something hard for a shorter time. If you turn a large wheel fixed to an axle, the axle will also turn. You can turn the large wheel easily (but it takes a lot of turning to go all the way around). The axle will go around a much shorter distance, but with more force. So you can use a wheel to create a mechanical advantage - you can turn something heavy, by spinning a large wheel attached to an axle that is attached to the heavy thing. That's how a pencil sharpener works. Or, you can do it the other way around - use a lot of force to turn the axle, and that will spin the wheels really fast. That's what cars do when they have wheels.

The wheel is probably the most important mechanical invention of all time. Nearly every machine built since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution involves a single, basic principle embodied in one of mankind’s truly significant inventions. It’s hard to imagine any mechanized system that would be possible without the wheel or the idea of a symmetrical component moving in a circular motion on an axis. From tiny watch gears to automobiles, jet engines and computer disk drives, the principle is the same.

Based on diagrams on ancient clay tablets, the earliest known use of this essential invention was a potter’s wheel that was used at Ur in Mesopotamia (part of modern day Iraq} as early as 3500 BC. The first use of the wheel for transportation was probably on Mesopotamian chariots in 3200 BC. It is interesting to note that wheels may have had industrial or manufacturing applications before they were used on vehicles.

A wheel with spokes first appeared on Egyptian chariots around 2000 BC, and wheels seem to have developed in Europe by 1400 BC without any influence from the Middle East. Because the idea of the wheel appears so simple, it’s easy to assume that the wheel would have simply "happened" in every culture when it reached a particular level of sophistication. However, this is not the case. The great Inca, Aztec and Maya civilizations reached an extremely high level of development, yet they never used the wheel. In fact, there is no evidence that the use of the wheel existed among native people anywhere in the Western Hemisphere until well after contact with Europeans.
